We should really be exfoliating our skin and here are 5 benefits of exfoliating daily.
As our skin ages, it needs more help with removing dead skin cells, and daily exfoliation is the answer.
Exfoliation isn’t something that only needs to be done at a spa. We are perfectly capable of doing ourselves at home.
It is important to regenerate new skin cells for all skin types.
5 Benefits of Exfoliating Daily
1) Smoother and more even skin tones
Those dark spots and marks that you have on your skin, especially on your face can be lessened with exfoliation. There is no guarantee that they will disappear forever as some scars and marks are more permanent. But it certainly helps improve the general tone and appearance.
2) Increased blood circulation
Your blood carries oxygen around your body. With your skin being your body’s biggest organ it needs oxygen. Maintaining healthy oxygen flow throughout your body will help your heart, lungs and muscles to function properly.
3) Cleans your pores
Your pores are designed to self cleanse but with infrequent washing or high pollution, we can find them getting clogged more frequently. There are a number of pore cleansers which will also help reduce the size of your pores once they have been cleansed
4) Reduces fine lines
This is something we are all going to face as our skin ages. Fine lines are a natural thing to experience as we lose collagen as our skin ages they will appear. Exfoliating will help encourage the regrowth of new cells which will look younger and fresher.
5) Prevents acne and breakouts
By removing the dead skin you are leaving your skin clean. Having cleaner skin will ultimately prevent oil and grease build-up which in turn will prevent acne. It is important to not scrub too hard, this is actually more likely to cause breakouts.
These are all points for everyone to consider if you want your skin to look good.
More so for us make-up wearers, exfoliating can also benefit the application and appearance of your made-up face.
Ensure you never scrub and only use warm water not really hot or really cold.
Anyone with sensitive skin should try to avoid harmful chemicals when exfoliating and this could lead to a reaction.
