Many successful people who have achieved every material thing in life end up with one question – ‘What’s now’? ‘What’s the purpose of my life’? It is because material success does not bring the fulfilment that comes with finding your true sense of purpose.
A personal sense of purpose is not to buy the most luxurious house in the world, but it is to work toward something that guides and sustains you. Whether you are starting a new chapter in life and want answers or just looking for a new direction and purpose.
It gives you a sense of stability and a sense of direction, which is the roadmap to living a happy, healthy, and fulfilled life. But the journey towards that purpose is long and challenging. So, how does one find the true purpose of their life? Here are a few areas to begin with.
What’s The Purpose Of My Life?
Develop a growth mindset
Having a growth mindset is the first step towards igniting the feeling that you have a bigger purpose of serving in life. When you work on your strengths and weaknesses, you constantly grow and become a better version of yourself. This helps you discover your true potential and how you can utilize it to do something better in life. Besides, a growth mindset also allows you to embrace challenges, accept constructive criticism, and work dedicatedly to improve yourself.
Be part of a community
The true purpose of life is ultimately being connected with people and serving them. Hence, be a part of a community that has like-minded people who are on the journey of self-exploration and are guided by the right people.
You can join discipleship training programs of churches where they teach holy teachings and valuable lessons for making disciples who can lead others. Try getting back into a team sport with people of a similar mentality could really boost your sense of being as well as establish some new friends.
Spending time with such people allows you to share your interests and values and work together towards a common goal.
Explore your passions
Your passions and interests can be an important factor in finding your life purpose. But, they can be hard to find as our interests are so ingrained in our thinking that we become blind to them.
So, if you’re having trouble discovering your interests, ask people who know you the best. Ask them about your strengths and weaknesses. Take note of their suggestions and compare them with yours to decide what areas you are ready to explore.
Practise gratitude
Nothing could be more powerful than practising gratitude.
When you feel thankful to the universe for your life and opportunities, you attract positivity and new opportunities in your life. Those opportunities further give you a sense of direction as to where you should invest your time and energy.
Being grateful helps you feel at peace, which multiples your natural energy and gives you the mental clarity to discover your true longing. Hence, one must practice gratitude every moment and every day.
Finding your true purpose helps you live a meaningful life. And living a meaningful life leads to better mental and physical health and reduces stress which further cuts down the chances of chronic illness.
In fact, studies have shown that a person with a fulfilled life lives longer than a person with no goals or ambitions.
