9 Benefits Of Kissing

1) Kissing helps with better heart health

According to scientific evidence, people who kiss more often have a 45% lower chance of having heart problems. The reason is that it can make one feel more relaxed and happy.

Having a healthy heart helps lower the risk of various other health conditions. Kissing dilates your blood vessels which in turn reduces blood pressure.

2) It helps with relaxation

The body produces more of the love hormone, oxytocin when it’s involved in kissing.

It helps us relax and warm our bodies up. It’s also beneficial to lean in for a kiss whenever we feel anxious.

3) Kissing helps with blood flow

Our bodies are made to secrete happy hormones when we kiss. These hormones help our blood vessels expand and allow for better oxygenation and blood flow.

4) It makes us feel happy

There is a deeper reason that makes kissing so pleasurable.

Aside from being able to stimulate the release of oxytocin, kissing also helps the brain to release other chemicals such as endorphins and serotonin.

It’s important to keep in mind that these chemicals can help lift your spirits, so it really is good to kiss.

5) Helps tone facial muscles

Almost all of the muscles in the face are used when you kiss. Although it might seem unromantic, it is important to note that kissing can tone the muscles in the neck and face.

Your lips are also home to thousands of sensory neurons that are stimulated by the sensation of another person’s lips.

6) You burn calories kissing

If you’re looking to burn more calories, kissing can help.

Although it’s not as effective as a cardio exercise, it can still be considered a calorie-burning exercise. The more vigorous the kiss the more calories you are going to be burning.

7) Kissing promotes oral health

The movement in the mouth can also increase saliva production, which can help remove plaque and other harmful bacteria from our teeth.

It is still important to remember to maintain good dental hygiene. Kissing alone isn’t going to offer the protection brushing your teeth offers. If you are kissing someone who has poor oral hygiene, you might inadvertently spread bacteria that can cause cavities.

8) Offers relief from headaches

The vascular dilation effect can also help relieve pain. Suffering from a headache could be greatly relieved by enjoying a kiss as this releases the happy hormone which controls pain.

This also works for other body pains, cramps or sprains, they could be greatly lessened by kissing.

9) Boost the immune system

In total, an average person spends over 20,000 minutes a year kissing.

As well as all these other benefits of kissing, it can also boost one’s immune system and reduce the severity of allergic reactions in people with nasal and skin allergies.

If these 9 benefits of kissing surprise you or even encourage you to start kissing more, then your heart and health will probably thank you for it.
