A Good Sleep Routine

Comfort Is Key

Like most things we do in our day-to-day lives, being comfortable is important. Same when we are trying to get to sleep.

Having a bed you find comfortable and enjoy being in will naturally help you fall asleep easier.

Not everyone feels the same about the type of mattress they prefer. Everyone has a different sleeping position too, this is all down to preference.

Ensuring you have the right mattress and pillows along with covers to make you comfortable, will help with a healthier sleep routine.

If you find you toss and turn a lot during the night try a weighted blanket.

Stress Levels

Daily life stress is a huge cause when it comes to sleeplessness.

People can lay awake dwelling on their daily dilemmas and planning out their next steps in their minds.

Having a mind journal or practising gratitude where you write before bed could help take this weight off your mind. Often people re-assess their day at night before bed, having a journal to write it down might be a useful way of clearing your thoughts before sleep.

Having your evening routine pamper session will help with stress levels too. A hot bath with some lavender bath salts or a bubble bath can be relaxing. Aromatherapy products have been used over many years to help with emotional and physical well-being.

While trying to de-stress won’t solve your problems but it can certainly help how your feel about them.

Relaxation

There are several ways you can relax before bed

This is needed to help your mind and body fall into a deep sleep. Having that deep sleep will be beneficial to your next day, and how productive you are.

We all have different stress triggers and different ways to relax too. Some people enjoy lighting candles and turning down the lights, while others might enjoy reading a book and having a glass of wine.

We are all different and knowing what works for you is key to your healthy sleep routine.

I also have a post on how to improve your morning routine which you might find helpful too.
