The Elizabeth Arden great 8 moisturizer is something that I have used for a number of years.
As I am becoming what feels obsessed with skincare, I feel this product needs to talk about.
It isn’t a brand I always pick up, mainly because of the cost. But it is a brand I love using, and my skin loves it too.
Elizabeth Arden Great 8 Moisturizer
The history of Elizabeth Arden dates back as far as 1910. To be beautiful is the birthright of every woman, this is the mantra which still resonates today.
This is a brand I’m sure everyone has heard of, if not used at some point in their life. With it being such an established household name it can be found on beauty counters across the world.
I must confess I have a huge collection of Elizabeth Arden skincare. I will most likely review some more of the pieces over time. But this is something that needs talking about now as we are having some warmer weather.
Great 8 Moisturizer
The main thing to point out is that this Elizabeth Arden Great 8 Moisturizer is feather-light.
Literally from the initial application to further on during the day, there is absolutely no heavy, caked-on feeling to it. The cream itself comes out white but melts in effortlessly to clear, leaving no residue.
It has an SPF35 PA+++ rating which means that is has high UV protection. The UV rating goes up to PA++++ so with this being PA+++ it is a good sign that it is giving you a lot of protection against UVAs.
Keeping your skin covered with SPF is very important to prevent skin damage and premature ageing.
Great 8 is made up of 8 essential skincare benefits, getting you ready for the day ahead. One thing to note if you weren’t aware your nighttime skincare routine doesn’t need to contain SPF, only your morning. So you wouldn’t use this in the evening, you would use a nighttime alternative.
White Horehound Flower extract wasn’t even something I had heard of before Elizabeth Arden Great 8 Moisturizer. It is used to protect the skin against blue light exposure and infrared. Now all of us who use computer screens for a living, this is a must for that protection.
You won’t find many skincare products which not only protect you from daily air pollutants but also from screen time too. If you are anything like me you probably weren’t even aware of how damaging blue light exposure was to our skin. We all get told to protect our eyes with glasses but what about the skin on our faces?
Elizabeth Arden great 8 moisturizer review
Elizabeth Arden Great 8 moisturizer is a great general all-rounder for your face and suitable for all skin types too.
If you are someone who commutes into the city or someone who spends a lot of time on a computer, give this a try. I really think you will love it as there is nothing to fault. Being part of the Great 8 collection means it will last for 8 hours on your skin.
The smell is lovely and fresh and there is absolutely no oil residue or build-up.
If like me you are more conscious of what you spend your money on, get a separate budget brand night cream to balance the cost. You will often find it on sale on sites like Look Fantastic or Superdrug so well worth looking at when there are promotions. Plus you will typically get free delivery as it will come to over the total threshold.
Also if you are a Boots advantage cardholder you can buy it online and get points to spend at Boots
Always remember to apply SPF last!
