Do you want to keep your summer glow in autumn? Of course, you do, and why wouldn’t you?

Transitioning our Summer to Autumn wardrobe means one thing, days are getting colder. Now we are heading for the cooler months I know I worry about that glow being a distant memory. There are obvious ways to maintain the sun-kissed look on our skin. A fake tan will give you that bronzed look if that’s what you are wanting to maintain.

Your healthy summer skincare routine can take you into the autumn months too.

Keep Your Summer Glow

There are a number of steps you can take to try to maintain that summer glow.

Exfoliate your skin

Exfoliating your skin any time of the year is important to keeping your skin looking healthy. Putting this in your self care routine should help ensure you maintain it.

Removing the dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin will reveal brighter skin beneath. A great way to exfoliate is through dry body brushing, this doesn’t involve much expense or effort. It can be easily done with a brush and absolutely no products.

As the weather isn’t as hot and we are perspiring less we can exfoliate less. This doesn’t mean stopping altogether though as it is still needed.

Hydration

We drink more during the summer months as we need more fluids to quench our thirst.

Keeping your body hydrated and keep on drinking will keep your skin hydrated. A lot of people don’t enjoy the taste of water but as long as you are drinking you are hydrating.

It is recommended that the average adult needs to drink the equivalent of 2 litres of water a day. This is regardless of the season.

Moisturise your skin

Adding to your skincare regime in the colder months to help create a wind barrier effectively.

Thicker and richer moisturisers could be more beneficial in helping chapped and irritated skin.

Daytime and nighttime moisturisers should be slightly different. You don’t need to break the bank in these either there are so many affordable skincare brands to choose from.

It is always worth adding some extra superfoods into your diet or a few more wholesome vegetables to really make you glow from within.

This should help keep your summer glow in autumn and throughout the winter months too.
